Annoyed

“I want to quit!” Does that sound like you? Are you having a hard time at work with a boss or a coworker? Is your job too demanding? Does your boss go crazy on you and start acting bi-polarish? Are you unhappy with all the stress you’re dealing with for the little pay you receive? Odds are, you NEED the money but you’re contemplating whether you can wait out this job until you find the next one. When it comes to quitting a job, it’s not a decision to be made in a rash moment or after a bad day at work. In this day and age, finding a job is hard. You are competing with people that are more skilled than you, have more experience than you, or is more educated than you, and there’s just not that many jobs available. So, I highly advise, before you march right out the door of your work place, ask yourself these questions:

1. What is my financial situation? Are you able to survive 6 months to 1 year while looking for another job? If your answer is no, then rethink about quitting your job and start sending out resumes pronto. If you have some money saved, consider cutting back on expenses. Apply for a part time job so you still have some sort of money coming in and you can go to interviews.

2. Do I have a support system? When you decide to quit that job, and you dont have anything lined up, odds are, you may start to doubt yourself and go into depression mode. It happens to all of us. I was laid off once and I didn’t work for two months. I went to a couple of interviews and sent out my resumes like a mad woman. After getting turned down twice, I started doubting myself. That is the worst thing you can do for yourself. Never doubt yourself. Pick out 2 to 3 people in your life that you can vent/bitch to and you know will remind you that you are talented and bright and can cheer you up when you need it.

3. Am I looking for a career change? Career changes can take longer than expected, especially if you are considering going back to school. If you plan on quitting your job, make sure to have a back up plan for the career you want to get into. Have realistic expectations. Are you able to afford school? If not, consider talking to a counselor and see what your options are for getting into that career path. Or better yet, see if you can take some affordable junior college classes .

4. Am I Exposing My Resume To It’s Utmost Potential? When you send out your resume, there are hundreds of other applicants inquiring about the same job . You have to get out there and start networking. Get your resumes out on linkedin. Join a recruiting company. Ask friends to refer you. Use social meet up groups to network.

Just recently, I quit a job where I worked for several years. I wanted a change of pace. I wanted more money. I wanted a better title. The more I thought about it, the more I got anxious and impatient. I figured “I will find something soon with all my experience. Im still young. Ill leave.” I ended up  not working for several months, but I did use my time wisely by taking classes ,  networking, and relaxing. Leaving my last job was a great opportunity for me to explore my options on what I really wanted to do in life. Now, I am only giving you advice based on my experience. I am not a therapist, H.R director, or anything. This is purely based on lifelong lessons and experience.

If you are financially okay to not work for 6 months, and you have exhausted all your options of trying to make your job work, then maybe it is time for a change. In the end, it’s really up to you on how much more $hit you can take. People will give you all sorts of advice. They will tell you “just quit. It’s not worth it” or “The job market is horrible. You should be happy you’re getting paid”. And they will tell you all these reasons but remember, this is YOUR life. It is YOUR decision.

Remember, never regret anything you did in life because at one point, that was what you wanted.

2013’s Easy 5 Minute Make Up Trends

The great thing about beauty trends in makeup is that it is constantly changing.  I look at pictures of myself from the past several years (no I am not THAT old) with different makeup looks, and I reminisce “I remember this was in”. Well, the beauty trend for 2013 takes only 5 minutes. It’s based on a more au naturale look and it’s fast and easy. Check out these two pictures below:

2013's Easy 5 Minute Make Up Trends

Trace your lash lines with a black pencil and smudge it. Make it messy. Think of rocker chick that partied all night and woke up in the morning with a hang over.

Apply shadow apply brown eye shadow and sweep it across the lids and under the eyeliner

Lipstick add on a sex nude lipstick and you are all set!

Dark Berry Lip Look

Dark Berry Lip Look

Quickly even out your skin with a good foundation. Remember to use moisturizer.

Brighten eyes with a soft brown shadow across your eye lids and use a white eyeliner pencil and line inside the rim on the bottom part of your eyes. Your eyes will pop!

Lips  Use a sexy dark berry color on your lips. I prefer a matte color lipstick as opposed to a shimmery wet pout.

Try out these looks and take advantage of the five minute (maybe less ) beauty trend. Have a good day!

I love makeup, but one of the most difficult challenges that I have are finding the “right” type of makeup for my eyes. I have “typical asian” eyes- by that, I mean, I have NO eye lid, my eyes are slanted, and when I smile, they are small. This is called “mono lids” and not having a crease makes a big difference in determining “how” to apply makeup , what type of liners to use, the “right” colors, techniques and tools to use to achieve beautiful eye makeup. Don’t get me wrong- I love my Asian eyes and I embrace it. It’s just finding the best way to enhance my features without making it look like a total mess.

After years of playing around with different makeup, I’ve found a couple of tips which will definitely help you out.

1. Pick the right eye shadow colors

Neutral colors are ideal for your eyes. Stick with brown, gold, peach, and pink colors.

When you are doing the smoky eye look, blend just at the outer corners of your eyes and use dark brown. If you do want to add in black for a dramatic look, in small circular brush strokes, lightly apply it only in the outer corner.

2. Apply eyeliner

Use eyeliner. I typically like to use liquid eyeliner on the top and on the bottom, I use mac’s liquid last. And it does last in the heat or if you are out the whole night and you don’t want it to smudge. It will stay on there . Only line 2/3 of the lash line from outside corner to inside.

3. False Lashes- Hell yeah!

Nothing makes eyes more attractive than full, flirty eyelashes. Unfortunately for us Asian girls, ours are often thin, short and straight. That’s why it is essential to play them up.

Curling our eyelashes is very important. The absolute best eyelash curler I’ve ever owned is  Shu Uemura eyelash curler. Make sure your lashes are bare. Open curler and clamp as close to the roots as you can, and hold for a few seconds. This will take your straight lashes into a feather-like bend. Then, with your false lashes, glue it close to your lash line. Make sure you use mascara to engage your real lashes with the falsies.

Most people apply eye makeup from the inside out. For Asians, it is actually better to apply eye makeup from the outside in, especially with liners and eye shadow. This trick will make eyes appear larger. Finish off with some sexy lip gloss and smile.

Bottom line: Instead of feeling discouraged that you have monolids, embrace what God gave you and enhance the beauty you already have. Not everyone can have Kim Kardashian’s  gorgeous eyes, but remember, you are beautiful no matter what.  Play with what you’ve got and if you have any cool interesting tips, please email them to me and I will add it in a future post.

Best Makeup For Summer Heat

Uncategorized

Image

There is nothing worse than walking around with your makeup sweating and of course, someone ends up taking your picture. Not only do you feel a bit dirty, but you feel icky and sticky, and gross.

Not too long ago, I met my  boyfriend’s family for the first time in Sacramento. If you’re not familiar with Sacramento, it’s about 105 degrees and it’s HOT…not just HOT, but HOTTTT. I wanted to look semi-decent but my falsies (fake lashes) were falling off, and my powder and eye shadow started running and within 2 hours of being in the heat, I looked as if someone punched my eyes. Totally NOT cute! and I was drenched in sweat. Not Whitney Houston sweaty but almost as bad.

Well, ladies, (and gentlemen), you CAN wear makeup in the heat and still look good. Here are some tips to prevent you from having runny makeup:

1. Use primer

2. Stay away from heavy based foundation makeup .

3. Apply  a light oil free foundation  or skip the foundation and put cover up under eyes

4. avoid wearing mascara and eyeliner (if you must, wear false lashes but crimp your eyelashes)

5. Carry oil blotting tissue paper and blot when necessary

Hope these tips help. Have a great

Ladies: To Shave Or Not To Shave….That Is The Question….

*This is a subject that most women feel uncomfortable to talk about. Sorry if any of you women feel offended*  I don’t know about you , but for me, when I let it all grow out down “there”,  I just don’t like it. LOL. So, to solve this “problem”, and to look more attractive or clean  down “there”, you figure you might want to try and get rid of the au natural pubic hair. But, you think to yourself “should I shave, wax,  or use Nair?”  Before you grab that razor, read the pros and cons.

Now, I’ve done all of the above.  Here’s my experience:

Shaving :    Image

Pros:   Easy, free, convenient

Cons: Hair grows back within a couple of hours and it’s rough and coarse, neck hurts when you’re constantly looking down there at different angles, and depending on how much hair you have, it could take a while. Could get messy, with pubes all over the shower. Prone to ingrown hairs. Oh, and like I’ve mentioned in the beginning, your neck hurts!!!

Nair:   Image

Pros:   Cheap, easy to use

Cons: hair grows back fast, smells bad. It’s better to use on the bikini line only

Wax:Image

Pros:  No hair growth for a month. Hair does eventually get thinner and finer.

Cons:  Ouchy painful, expensive (My wax girl charges me $70).

I prefer waxing -hands down. It’s cleaner and better. The more times you do it, the lesser the hair growth. 🙂   It is a bit pricey, so what you can do is do a yelp search for wax salons in your area.  There’s usually a discount for first-timers. Also, if you subscribe to living social / bloom spot / groupon, you can find salon deals. Good luck!

Yes, it’s the new year and we’ve all made our New Year’s Resolution to either exercise, lose weight, get fit , save money, eat better, ….blah blah blah….
Well, have you dared to start off the New Year with “gittin yo hair did?”  That’s right ladies, let’s start this year fresh with a new ‘do’ and then work our way to fashion…shall we?!?

Image

Jennifer Aniston always looks gorgeous. This type of hair style is not only easy to attain but it will look good for the next 3 months. It’s definitely doable for any type of face shape, whether you have a round face, square face, thin face, you will rock this hairstyle no matter what.

ImageAnother favorite hair do of mine is from Sarah Jessica Parker. She looks young, fresh, and vibrant. I call this the ulitmate sexy summer hair look. Hair is full of volume and beautiful curls. Again, any type of face shape will look good in this.

ImageDemi Moore is one hot m.i.l.f. The hair style looks kinda ..eh, boring (i wear my hair like this on most days) but make sure that you add volume to it. Other wise, your hair will look oily and dirty and no good. This looks good on any frame shape.

ImageThis is one hair style I’ve not tried yet. I will definitely do my hair like this the next time I get it cut. It’s so freakin 70s, and it looks pretty rad. Any face shape will look wonders with this do.

Image

Ok, i am NOT a fan of this haircut. Only few women can pull this off. If you have high cheek bones, nice neck, no double chin, and a pretty chiseled facial structure, then maybe, just maybe you can pull it off. Halle Berry looks good in every hairstyle . If you do have a wide thick face (and I do) stay away from this hair .

Be bold and be a new you for the New Year. Get a new haircut. It makes all the difference.

Ladies, Here Are Your Answers As To WHY MEN CHEAT!

bargain, beauty, clothes, clothing, fashion, love, sale, slim, splurge, spring fashion, tips, trend, trends, Uncategorized, weightloss

Yes, you were the sweet , faithful , loving girlfriend/ wife/ spouse the whole time, but despite the fact that you’re also beautiful, you were still played.  How can that be? What did I do wrong?

Before I answer this , I want to confirm with everyone that it is a proven fact that men cheat way more than women. Im not saying that all women are angelic- there are some who cheat just as often as men do.  If  you were cheated on in the past or are going through it right now, read on. This may play a part in your situation.

Have you caught your man doing this?

Men Cheat Because they’re not Getting Any, RIGHT?

Lmao. This is too funny. Sorry to be so blunt, but men cheat because they are not emotionally connected to their partner. Women feel that when men arent happy, we gotta give it up. The guys need to feel like they are appreciated in all that they do for us.
For a majority of men, they want to be the one that takes care of everything, which means providing a safe and loving home. They want to hear you say “baby, you’re working so hard. I appreciate all that you do. I love you. You’re doing a fabulous job”

Do Men Cheat Because I gained A little Weight or Because I dont dress The Way I Used To????

When you’ve been in a relationship for a while, you get into that “comfort” zone, where you start farting, picking your nose, burping, and you switch your sexy ass true religions or hot dresses for comfy pair of sweatpants and tie your hair back. Try making an effort once in a while to doll yourself up. Keep the spark alive. Remind him why he fell in love with your dazzling smile.

So, in conclusion , to answer this question, men cheat because for whatever reason, they can and they will, if you let them. (same goes for women as well). If you suspect your man of cheating, ask him in a nice and subtle way (of course, have at least 3 or more “legit” reasons of why you suspect it). If he doesnt give you a logical answer for each and every one of them, seek counseling. If he’s not willing to do that, then he’s not willing to work on the relationship.
